Community Service

  • The community service obligation is recognition that the isolated and remote nature of Seastead life requires a contribution by each resident of service and personal involvement beyond their paid duties.

Overall, each inhabitant is expected to perform two hours of community obligation every day, except vacation days. This includes time spent as a Senator or Juror, voting in plebiscites and assessing historical votes for impact and value. Distributing one’s mana points for the week counts for an hour of community obligation. Any form of service calculated to improve the well-being of the Seastead, performed outside the scope of one’s duties, and under a programme plan approved by the Senate, counts against community obligation.
