- The tax-exempt charitable and scientific Deep Research Foundation was established by the sponsors in 2007. The Foundation’s endowment now exceeds $US3 billion. The Foundation makes grants in the order of $US200 million per annum. The Foundation has loaned and granted over $US800 million to fund the development and commissioning of Deep Home. It holds a 25 year mortgage over Deep Home which gives it rights of veto over changes to its Charter and control of the appointment of senior executive personnel until the mortgage is retired. It has provided major grants subsidising operating costs for Deep Home which it is committed to continue for the first ten years of Deep Home’s life from her commissioning in 2010.
