Deck Operations     Command, safety, seaworthiness, good order and navigation of vessel. A Deck Officer, a Petty Officer and two AB Crew stand watch.
Captain 1 Senior Executive Appointed by Trust, subject to qualification, subject to confidence of Director and Senate. Reports to Trust Board. Ex officio Senator.
      The primary responsibility of the Captain is to ensure the safety of the vessel, prevent human injury or loss of life, and avoid damage to the environment, in particular, to the marine environment, and to the vessel and its cargo. Has final on-board legal responsibility for and command authority over all issues of safety, seaworthiness and good order aboard the vessel.
      Must be legally qualified to act as Master of the Ship under the laws and maritime regulations of the Flag Nation. Sworn to uphold the law of the Flag Nation, and the Seastead Charter.
Captain’s Clerk 1 Administrative / Technical Responsible for the custody and maintenance of Ship’s Logs and Ship’s Documentation.
Executive Officer 1 Executive Appointed by Captain, subject to qualification, subject to confidence of Director and Senate. Reports to Captain. Non-voting Senator.
      Must be legally qualified to act as Master of the Ship under the laws and maritime regulations of the Flag Nation. Responsible for day to day safety, seaworthiness, navigation and operation of the Ship. Deputises for Captain and acts for him in his absence or incapacity.
Deck Officers 4 Professional Appointed by Captain, subject to qualification, subject to confidence of Captain and Senate. Reports to Captain.
Communications Officer 1 Professional Appointed by Captain, subject to qualification, subject to confidence of Captain and Senate. Reports to Captain.
Flight Officers 2 Professional Appointed by Captain, subject to qualification, subject to confidence of Captain and Senate. Reports to Captain.
Master at Arms 1 Executive Appointed by Captain, subject to qualification, subject to confidence of Captain, Senate and Legal Review Committee. Reports to Captain. Non-voting Senator.
      “Ship’s Policeman”. Sworn to uphold the law of the Flag Nation, Seastead Charter. Must be a trained law enforcement officer who has served in the police force of the Flag Nation or equivalent jurisdiction for at least ten years. Is responsible for maintaining order and enforcing regulations under direction of Captain. Brings disciplinary charges under the Seastead Charter. As defined in the Charter and Regulations, minor charges are presented directly to the Seastead Court, while major charges are referred to the off-board Prosecuting Advocate who decides whether a sufficient case exists for presentation to the Ship’s Court. Responsible for Ship’s Armoury. May co-opt crew members and deputise them to assist in maintenance of law and order.
